My family loves a good food festival. We try to get to at least 3 or 4 each season, but Pierogi Fest is the one we look forward to every year.
Pierogi Fest is an annual food festival held every July in Whiting, Indiana. Whiting is a small town that’s a short 45-minute drive from Chicago. The area residents of Whiting come together to celebrate the city’s Polish roots with music, games, and most importantly, there are various food booths set up along the streets of downtown Whiting serving traditional polish foods like pierogis, kielbasa, and sauerkraut. Other foods such as pizza, barbeque, and homemade ice cream have been added over the last couple of years. There’s also live music, art fairs, and a beer garden. You can read more about the festival here.
